Rashad's Story:  Rockledge Youth Football was a key part in my development into becoming a young man. My coaches taught me the importance of teamwork, determination, persistence, hard work and priorities. I played football at Rockledge High School for 4 years and was a starter for 3 years, and played on one of the championship team. I was All-Conference and made the ESPN All-star team and played in the Central Florida All-star game where I was the defensive MVP and started in the State of Florida All-star game representing the South Division. I lettered in track 3 years going to state 3 years in a row placing 5th and 9th in high jump and making it on the 4x4 relay team. I also was a 3 year starter on the basketball team.  My senior year I was named the most athletic at Rockledge High school. While excelling in sports I also was an honor roll student excelling in the classroom as well.  We were taught no matter how talented you were on the field without good grades it means nothing, and the same effort you put onto the field you need to match in your schooling. I received a full scholarship to Eastern Illinois University where I played cornerback and was All-New Comer, All-Conference, and All American. I was captain of my team and led my team to 2 conference titles. I also had a shot to play in the NFL with the Kansas City Chiefs.  While in college I received my Bachelors and Masters degree. Rockledge Youth Football teaches young kids not just about excelling in sports but also molds kids and gives them the tools to become young men and I’m a product of that teaching.
